Toyota Avalon
Autor Reviews | 13.02.2009 | Category Toyota Cars
The Toyota Avalon is a full-size car produced by Toyota in the United States, and is the flagship sedan of Toyota in the United States, Canada, and the Middle East. It was also produced in Australia until July 2005; it was replaced in November 2006 by the Toyota Aurion. It is a front-wheel drive four-door sedan. The first Toyota Avalon rolled off the assembly line in Georgetown, Kentucky on February 21, 1994 as a 1995 model. A second-generation model was released in the United States and Japan in 1999. In 2000, the Toyota Avalon was the first Toyota model to feature a non-touch screen navigation system.
The Avalon filled the gap left by the cancellation of the Toyota Cressida in the American market in 1992. While the Cressida was an upper-level midsize rear-wheel drive car with a straight-6 engine, the Avalon is front-wheel drive, powered by a V6 engine. (The Toyota Camry, which was slotted below the Cressida and Avalon, was initially a compact, but later was stretched to midsize; hence, the Avalon was introduced as a large car.)
The exterior of the Toyota Avalon XL looks like any other $50,000 luxury car, but at almost half the price. From the multi-reflector halogen headlamps to the tinted tail lamps onward to the color keyed bumpers and power outside mirrors, the 2009 Toyota Avalon means business. The 16 inch alloy wheels, high solar energy absorbing glass and dual rear exhaust outlets give the 2009 Toyota Avalon a classic yet unique look.
There are four trim levels: XL, Touring, XLS and Limited. Even the base XL comes loaded with standard equipment. The Touring model is the sporty Avalon, with 17-inch wheels, a more firmly tuned suspension, an all-black interior and aluminum trim detail. The XLS is more upscale with premium features, including a moonroof and a six-CD changer. The leather-lined Limited serves as the model’s top-of-the-line trim.
Toyota Prado
Autor Reviews | 13.02.2009 | Category Toyota Cars
Prado is Toyota’s premium 5-door, 8-seater presentation in the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) segment. Powered by a 3956 cc (4-litre) V6, 24 valve, Variable Valve Timing Intelligence (VVT-i), Dual Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) engine, it is a sheer powerhouse capable of generating 234 PS of power at 5200 rpm while producing 36.9 kg-m of torque at 3800 rpm. It offers a fuel economy of 5-6 km. per litre.
The ruggedly built Prado presents awesome engine power, superior handling and terrain hugging abilities for rough rides. It handles equally confidently in city conditions too. This model also has excellent safety features to prevent injury to occupants in case of an accident or collision.
The body is optimally designed for crash safety. It has front and rear crumple zones that have the capacity to absorb impact energy upon impact. A variety of other features such as SRS airbags, SRS side curtain airbags, Anti- Lock Braking System (ABS), Whiplash Injury Lessening (WIL), and Toyota Electronic Modulated Suspension (TEMS) reduce the injury to the driver in the event of a collision.
Furthermore, the Prado includes premium features like 5-speed auto transmissions, permanent four-wheel drive, dual zone air conditioning, height control mechanism, electronic modulated suspension, and others. External features like dynamic lamps, multi reflectors, sun roofs and bigger wheels lend additional attention to the vehicle.
Toyota Corolla
Autor Reviews | 12.02.2009 | Category Toyota Cars
The 2008 Toyota Corolla delivers easy handling and good fuel economy at a low initial cost. The Washington Post recommends the Corolla because “through all of its model changes, the Corolla remained true to the notion of impeccable automotive quality delivered at reasonable cost.” The Corolla’s role in the affordable small car class is highlighted by the New York Times, which says, “Toyotas have been so reliable, it has forced American manufacturers to improve the quality of their offerings.”

Corolla with its superior design and features are fully loaded with luxurious interior. Interiors of corolla include leather upholstery, two tone color scheme, wood grain central console, lumbar support, elevated seating, superior cooling, 6 CD play audio system, premium sound, audio controls on steering wheel etc. The safety features for corolla include dependable airbags, collision test, safe brake pedal design, 3 point ELR/ALR seat belts etc.
The 2008 Toyota Corolla economy sedan is available in three trim levels: CE, S and LE. The base CE comes with 15-inch steel wheels, air-conditioning, a CD player, power mirrors, a height-adjustable driver seat, an outside temperature gauge and a 60/40-split folding rear seat. The S is similar but has a lower-body styling kit, a rear deck spoiler, foglights and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Go with the Corolla LE to gain fake wood trim, Optitron gauges, power windows and locks, and remote keyless entry. You can get the power windows and locks as options on the CE and S. Other available options, depending on the trim level, include 16-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, upgraded audio systems and cruise control.
Even with the car’s tall cabin, room in the front seats is only average, with a somewhat awkward seating position for the driver. On the plus side, two adults can sit comfortably in the backseat without ducked heads or pulled-up legs. Trunk capacity measures a generous 13.6 cubic feet.
Power for all 2008 Corollas comes in the form of a 126-horsepower, 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. A five-speed manual transmission driving the front wheels is standard, and a four-speed automatic is optional. Fuel economy is at the very top of the economy sedan segment (neck and neck with the Civic) with 2008 EPA figures of 26 mpg city and 35 mpg highway with the automatic transmission.
Toyota Corolla altis
Autor Reviews | 13.10.2008 | Category Toyota Cars
Stylingwise the new altis is a big leap forward over the previous one. Character lines all over the car ensures better aerodynamics for the car. The muscular bumper flows upwards all the way to the bonnet. Yes, the grille, headlamp cluster and fog lamps looks like embedded in the bumper. However one thing you would surely notice is the arrangement of headlamp and tail lamp clusters. Both are not in line with body surface, projecting out a little for the 3D effect.
Following the Volkswagen, Toyota has mastered the art of using LED’s. Clever use of LED’s in the Tail lamp cluster is a feast to the eyes. Overall we can define the new corolla altis as a baby camry, yet, the car looks conservative when compared to the Civic.
The 1.6L petrol mill under the hood offers enough power and the short throw gearbox is silky smooth. The intelligent Variable Valve Timing engine churns out a decent 132bhp and provides smoother acceleration. The Corolla is being offered with five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic transmission for the top-end variant. Though we are not able to test top whack we find that altis easily moves past 150kmph. Overall mileage of the corolla altis is around 11kmpl.
