DASVIDANIYA, a feature film presented by One More Thought Entertainment (OMTE) in association with Lemontea Productions has been slated for release on October the 31st, 2008. The film has Vinay Pathak in the lead along with Rajat Kapoor, Neha Dhupia and Saurabh Shukla has been directed by Shashant Shah.

DASVIDANIYA is a bitter-sweet situational comedy about a man Amar Kaul (Vinay Pathak). One among the millions of people in the pool of Mumbai’s ever increasing population, Amar’s existence is easily forgettable. His innocence and his obsession for making his daily ‘TO-DO LIST’ every morning is what motivates him to look forward to the next day.

Apart from Vinay Pathak, Rajat Kapoor and Neha Dhupia other stars in the movie include Saurabh Shukla, Gaurav Gera, Suchitra Pillai, Sarita Joshi, Suresh Menon, Purvi Joshi, Ranvir Shourey and host of others.

Dialogue and story is by Arshad Sayed, Art Direction by Rakesh Morchale and Arun Verma is the Director of Photography. Music has been given by Kailash Kher.

Kismat Konnection

Kismat Konnection is a forthcoming Bollywood film directed by Aziz Mirza who previously directed films like Yes Boss (1997), Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani (2000) and Chalte Chalte (2003). The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Vidya Balan in the lead roles with Juhi Chawla in a supporting role.

The movie pairs together Shahid Kapur and Vidya Balan for the first time. In the supporting roles are Juhi Chawla, Om Puri and Vishal Malhotra. Kismat Konnection is produced by Ramesh Taurani and directed by Aziz Mirza . The film has music by Pritam.

An out-of-luck architect and an out-of-love social activist find themselves connected in a strange way by kismat in director Aziz Mirza’s film ‘Kismat Konnection’.

The love story which centres around Raj Malhotra (Shahid), a street smart charming guy but despite his best efforts success eludes him. Raj’s luck changes when he meets an enigmatic fortune-teller Juhi who assures him that he is about to get lucky with a new chance.

Deviating from his signature pair of Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla, Aziz Mirza has roped in current bollywood heartthrob Shahid Kapur and Vidya Balan. The director hopes that Vidya and Shahid will make it to the list of successful Bollywood reel-couple.

Victory

Victory is a 2008 Indian cricket-based sports film starring Pammi Baweja’s and Harry Baweja’s son Harman Baweja and Amrita Rao.It is Harman Baweja second release after his debut film Love Story 2050.The movie is currently being filmed in Australia and is to be one of Bollywood’s most expensive movies to date.

Australian pace spearhead Brett Lee is all set make his debut in Bollywood opposite actress Amrita Rao in a sports movie Victory. The movie will be the story of a cricketer and will also star other cricketers like Allan Border, Mike Hussey and Jason Gillespie. The movie will be produced by Vivek Aggarwal and calling the shots will be debutant director Ajit Pal.

This is not the first time that the Aussie cricketer will feature in the Indian entertainment industry. A year back he featured in a music video and sung a duet with Asha Bhonsle. Lee is very excited about his role in the movie and says he is not likely to have any problems with acting as he will be playing the role of a cricketer.

Harman Baweja is also expected to feature in the movie along with Anupan Kher and Gulshan Grover. The movie is expected to boost movie trade between India and Australia as Bollywood movies are quite popular in the land down under.

Golmaal Returns

Golmaal Returns is a forthcoming Bollywood film directed by Rohit Shetty. The film is a sequel to the 2006 film, Golmaal with Ajay Devgan, Tusshar Kapoor and Arshad Warsi reprising their roles and Shreyas Talpade reprising the role originally played by Sharman Joshi. Kareena Kapoor, Anjana Sukhani, Amrita Arora and Celina Jaitley are new additions to the cast. Produced by Dhillin Mehta under Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision LTD.

In a classic, comedy of errors, Golmaal Returns traces the misadventures of Gopal (Ajay Devgan) and his wife Ekta (Kareena Kapoor). The couple lives with Gopal’s sister Esha (Amrita Arora) and Ekta’s mute brother Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor).

The soundtrack comprises of four songs, two English versions of songs and remixes of all the songs. The plain old Bollywood mantra for soundtracks. Create a few songs and then remix them. This way you double up the number of tracks and ease some pain off from DJs. Tha Kar Ke sung by Neeraj Shridhar aims to get in the queue of catchy numbers.

Mission Istanbul

‘Mission Istanbul’ is an action thriller based on the subject of international terrorism. The film tells the story of a journalist who gets his hands on top-secret information on dreaded terrorists.

The movie stars Zayed Khan, Vivek Oberoi, Sunil Shetty, Shabbir Ahluwalia and Shreya Saran in main roles. Abhishek Bachchan makes a special appearance.

‘Mission Istanbul’ is directed by Apoorva Lakhia . The film has story by Suresh Nair and is produced jointly by Sunil Shetty, Shabbir Boxwala, Shobhaa Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor.

Vikas Sagar is a young and gifted journalist. Lucks favors him in the form of Owais Husain, head of a controversial Istanbul based news channel, who promises him a lump some salary and other benefits. This offer comes at a time when Vikas is undergoing a painful time having divorced his wife Anjali.

Tempted by the lucrative offer, he lands the job. Later, he learns the truth and voices his plans to quit his job. However, he is warned by a Turkish commando, Rizwan Khan (Vivek Oberoi), that others who have quit from the channel have mercilessly been killed for knowing its secrets. Who wins this battle? Will Vikas fall prey like many others or is the pen mightier than the sword?

The need for a Turkish/Middle-Eastern influence in the instrumentation and percussion of MI is utterly understandable, but why did Apoorva Lakhia require four different music directors to churn out the soundtrack? With the exception of Mika Singh, who tuned the ode-to-the-bartender “Ganpat” on Lakhia’s last venture, “Shootout at Lokhandwala”, the 3 other MDs don’t really bring much uniqueness to the pitch.

Rab ne Bana di Jodi

There is an extraordinary love story in every ordinary jodi! And one such ordinary jodi is that of Surinder Sahni and Taani in ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’.

The movie, a love story, is directed by Aditya Chopra who is returning to direction after eight years since Mohabbatein. Shahrukh Khan , who has worked in the two previous flicks Aditya Chopra has directed (including Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge ), once again plays the lead role.

The female lead is played by a newcomer named Anushka Sharma .

Soundtrack of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi was released on November 6, 2008. The music is composed by Salim-Sulaiman who also composed for other Yash Raj Films such as Aaja Nachle (2007), Chak De India (2007), and Roadside Romeo (2008). The reviews have been mixed as the album does not compare to Aditya Chopra’s earlier movies – Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Mohabbatein.

The song “Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte” pays tribute to Bollywood legendary actors Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna, Shammi Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor. The song is picturised on Shahrukh Khan and has special appearances by Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Preity Zinta and Priyanka Chopra. Each paragraph of the song contains lyrics that represent titles of songs filmed on the respective actors tributed.

Made under the banner of Yashraj Films , Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is set to hit the theatres on December 12.

Banda Ye Bindaas Hai

Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai is an official remake of Oscar winning Hollywood comedy, My Cousin Vinny. The original had Joe Pesci playing a bumbling middle aged lawyer fighting his first case, a murder case, to hilarious consequences. In solving the case he is shown aided by his girlfriend (Marisa Tomei in an Oscar winning role) and forever put to test by the public prosecutor. In Chopra’s film, Govinda shall be replacing Joe Pesci whereas Lara Dutta will play his girl friend’s role. For the nasty public prosecutor’s part, Chopra has decided to cast a female character instead of the male in the original which shall be enacted by Tabu.

In Banda Yeh Bindaas Hai, Tabu shall be playing a naughty lawyer. The highly praised actress has never played a completely over the top sensuous character before and is eager to play the part in this Bollywood comedy.

Ugly Aur Pagli

Ugly Aur Pagli is a fun-filled love story with a punch, a thud, and some serious arm-twisting thrown in with zero bedside manners.

The movie stars the odd pair of Mallika Sherawat and Ranvir Shorey in lead roles.

Kabir, a carefree guy who has been studying engineering for the last 10 years now, whose life goes for a sixer when he meets the quirky and kinky Kuhu. Kabir always wanted a girl to love and to make love but he never in his wildest dreams thought he would encounter a girl who could make him dance around circles, run semi naked, ride cycles without seats, wear high heeled ladies shoes… Oh trust us it gets worse. But the funny part is they actually fall in love with each other and what we get is one of the quirkiest love stories of the year.

As for the soundtrack, Anu Malik, who hadn’t seen a release for quite some time, is currently witnessing the release of several of his albums all at once. Though they aren’t really ‘classic Malik’ à la Main Hoon Na, Umrao Jaan or Jaan-e-Mann they are getting progressively better with each release.

The album opens on a rocking note with Talli! which will most certainly emerge a hit in the club scene which it seems ideal for. What’s most interesting is the fact that Anmol Malik takes control of the track and makes a complete turnaround from her work in ‘Agle Janam’ from Umrao Jaan. It’s incredibly hard to believe that this husky voice is the same one that crooned the soft number just a few years ago. Along with Hard Kaur and Mika Singh, she takes this dance tracks to new heights with her fresh voice.

Ghazni

Ghazni was originally a Tamil Movie, which was dubbed into Telugu with the same name and is also is being remade in Hindi with Aamir Khan. Ghazni as a movie was inspired by Memento. Inspired here does not mean that it is lifted. The narrative style and complexity of the original is not suited for the common man.

Director Murugadoss has taken the basic theme about a guy with short-term memory loss taking revenge for his wife’s death and made it a good commercial film for the audience in question. The presence of Surya and Asin in the film is a case of excellent casting. Their performances were deservedly loved by most audience members. The love story which was quite enjoyable was supposedly lifted from an old Nagarjuna movie (according to TeluguCinema.com).

Though the climax is a bit of a letdown, this film works and Murugadoss should get most of the credit for the adaptation suitable for the target audience. The performances of Surya and Asin alongwith Harris Jayaraj’s music (my favorite is “Oru Naalai” or “Oka Maaru”. Though it would rate very low, in comparison with Memento, this is an enjoyable watch for anyone who likes commercial films or thrillers.

Always wondered why this movie was called Ghazni? Wikipedia gives the following reason: “Ghajini (Ghazni) Mohammed was the man who tried to invade India 15 times, failing miserably on every occasion. Finally, on the 16th time, he was successful. Similarly, the protagonist in Ghajini fails many times in his attempts to murder the villain, yet ultimately succeeds.”

Love Story 2050

The first part of the film is based on the love story between Priyanka and Harman and the funny thing is the second part of the film is also based on their love story. The only difference is the second part happens in the year 2050.

Coming to the much hyped special effects, Harry has proved it a mark in Indian film history but it’s quite difficult to say whether the world, especially Mumbai, will look somewhat like that in the year 2050. This possibly is the first Indian film that marvels in special effects and people seem really amazed but at the same time few people are inclined to believe it a copy of some Hollywood flick. Being neutral it’s better to buy both the opinions. One funny thing is, even in 2050, corruption remain our inseparable characteristic.

Harry Baweja has beautifully taken care of direction as well as the story but at some places the story becomes little slow. Music and lyrics of the film looks nice but at the same time it appears little difficult to say that songs will look something like that with flying cars in the year 2050. Priyanka has worked well in accordance with her character. Whether Harman’s resemblance with Hrithik is a bane or boon is a quiz immaterial but his impact on the screen is quite impressive. Boman Irani has depicted his character quite well. Archana Puran Singh looks good in her charaPriyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja in Love Story 2050cter of Priyanka’s mother.
