The Lancaster University offers a friendly department offering students excellent facilities and a warm welcome. The Guardian Newspaper recently rated the Department the third best general engineering department in the UK and our teaching is rated “excellent”. Thanks to an exciting project-based approach, with an emphasis on design and innovation, the graduates at Lancaster University are highly sought after by industry. They offer BEng and MEng courses in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electronic and Computer Systems Engineering.

Each year University’s students design and build a racing car for entry to the Formula Student Competition, drawing on their newly developed skills in electronics, computer science and smart mechanical engineering. Thanks to this multidisciplinary approach, the cars, like many of their student projects, have been praised for their advanced and imaginative design.
