Sony DSC T77 has 0 positive reviews and 0 negative reviews.

T77 is a 10.1 Megapixel Super HAD CCD Image Sensor features 4x optical zoom (35mm Equivalent : 35-140mm) with Optical SteadyShot image stabilization; Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens, Face Detection technology (up to 8 faces); Smile Shutter technology, 15MB built-in memory; compatible with Memory Stick media, and a 3-inch widescreen, touch-panel Clear Photo LCD Plus; Intelligent Scene Recognition.The camera measures W x H x D: 3 3/4? x 2 3/8? x 19/32? (93.6mm x 57.2mm x 15.0mm) and weighs approx 4.4 oz (126g).

The Cyber-shot DSC-T77 is an ultra-slim camera made almost entirely of metal. The camera is well put together, with even the normally flimsy battery door being sturdy.

Ergonomics are a mixed bag, and I\’ve already complained about that sliding lens cover. Since the camera relies on its touchscreen interface to control its features, there are hardly any buttons to be found. Those buttons that you will find are on the camera are very small, and the zoom controller is ridiculously small. While there is a spot for your thumb on the back of the camera, the touchscreen interface ensures that you\’ll have fingerprints on the LCD in no time.

The 10-megapixel T77 camera is Sony’s thinnest model at less than 5/8 of an inch with a 3-inch, 16 x 9 touch panel LCD screen. It features updated intelligent scene recognition technology, Smile Shutter™ and face detection technologies with child and adult priority, as well as high sensitivity shooting (up to ISO 3200), eleven scene modes, and in-camera image management.

sony_t77The T700 model earns extra points as a “photo album in your pocket.” It has all the features of the T77 unit plus 4GB of internal memory that can store nearly 1,000 full-resolution or 40,000 VGA-quality photos; a 3.5-inch, wide touch panel Xtra Fine LCD™ screen for photo-like viewing (210 pixel-per-inch resolution) with high contrast and wide-angle viewing; and a thin profile (slightly more than 5/8 of an inch) so it can easily slip into a pocket or purse.

“Sony is taking the lead in developing “intelligent” cameras so that taking great pictures is an automatic function and not a complicated process,” said Phil Lubell, director of digital camera marketing at Sony Electronics. “This is part of our effort to enhance the camera experience for customers by offering new functionality.”

Like all of Sony\’s recent cameras, the Cyber-shot DSC-T77 has built-in memory instead of having a memory card included in the box. The T77 has a paltry 15MB of onboard memory, which holds just three photos at the highest quality setting. Thus, you\’ll want to get a large memory card, and fast. The DSC-T77 supports Memory Stick Duo media, and I\’d start out with a 2GB card.

The DSC-T77 can use two different batteries: the included NP-BD1, and the optional NP-FD1. The only difference between the two is that the FD1 has the InfoLithium feature, which allows the camera to tell you exactly how many minutes of battery life you have left. Both batteries have just 2.4 Wh of energy, which is about as low as you\’ll find.
